Soccer fans shut down Brady Street
MILWAUKEE - Brady Street is back open after soccer fans forced it to close Sunday.
Thousands of spectators spilled out on to the busy street while they watched Team USA take on Portugal.
They were hanging out of windows, on top of vans and even on some roofs trying to get a glimpse at a massive screen showing the game, which ended in a tie.
Police closed the street for a couple hours because of worries about safety.
Some fans that showed up said they weren't prepared for the sheer number of people.
"I had no idea coming down here," said Kristi Fahey.
Officers reopened the street around 7:30 p.m. Organizers estimate the crowd at close to 15,000.
