MT PLEASANT - Fire in an apartment building near Green Bay Road and Highway 11 Christmas night sent people scattering from their homes.

The fire broke out on a second story balcony in the 8 unit building.  That unit and another were seriously damaged.  Others were also damaged, although not as seriously.

Firefighters say the fire spread to the roof before they got it under control.

No one was hurt.

People who live in the building were not able to return to their homes last night because the power had been shut off to the building.

The Red Cross helped people who were displaced from their homes.
