Honor those who have served this country at one of the following events:

The Annual Veterans Day Memorial Program
Sunday Nov. 11 at 10:30 a.m.
MacArthur Square, south of the Safety Building
821 W. State St, Milwaukee

Milwaukee Police Post 415 and Milwaukee Fire Fighters Post 426 of the American Legion will host the ceremony, which has been held in Milwaukee since 1939.

The program will include a speech by Wayne Jensen, commander of Wisconsin’s American Legion, as well as a rifle salute and playing of the Taps.

49th Annual Milwaukee Veterans Day Parade and Day of Honor
Saturday, Nov. 10
Roads close at 10:45 a.m.
Parade starts at 11 a.m.
The parade lasts 1 to 1.5 hours

Route: Starts at Fourth and Kilbourn and heads east to Plankinton
Plankinton south to Wells
East on Wells to Prospect
South on Prospect to the Mason Street Bridge
The Mason Street Bridge past the War Memorial and into Veterans Park

Veterans Day Celebrations at the Harley-Davidson Museum

St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy Program
Saturday, Nov. 10 at 2 p.m.
“St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy will perform a ceremony to honor six branches of war veterans from WWI to current conflicts. Program will conclude with a 21-gun salute.”

St. John’s Northwestern Military Drill Team
Saturday, Nov. 10 at 3 p.m.
“The St. John’s Northwestern Military Academy ‘Silver Rifles’ Exhibition Drill Team will perform intricate precision marching, and demilitarized rifle spinning and tossing.”

Free Museum entry for Military and their families
Saturday, November 10 and Sunday, November 11
10 a.m.-6 p.m.
*Free entry with valid Military ID for 1 additional adult and up to 4 children 18 years old or younger.

Special Museum Lobby Display
"The 2011 & 2012 Custom Bike Show People’s Choice award winner 'Tribute Bike,' owned by Vietnam Vet Lee McAndrew, will be on display in the Museum lobby. The bike features various scenes related to the Vietnam War and tributes to specific individuals who served."
American Flag Collection
"Bring your worn American flag to the Museum to be properly retired."
Harley-Davidson Flag Signing
"Sign a Harley-Davidson flag to be presented to a Military unit serving overseas."
Live American Bald Eagle on Display
11 a.m.-3p.m.
"Glory, the Museum’s feathered ambassador, will be on-site. Interact, learn and get your photo taken Glory in the Museum’s lobby. No Museum ticket required to meet Glory."

Free general admission for veterans and current members of the military. Please be prepared to show proof of military affiliation.

Operation Honor: A Salute to Veterans
Saturday, Nov. 10
Doors open at 3:30 p.m.
Waukesha North High School Field House
2222 Michigan Ave
The celebration includes a salute to veterans with Lt. Gov. Rebecca Kleefisch, the Navy Band Great Lake "Horizon" and a fireworks tribute.

VITAS Veteran’s Day Memorial Service
Chapel of the Chimes - Wisconsin Memorial Park
Thursday, Nov. 8 from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
13235 W. Capitol Dr.
Brookfield, WI 53005
The Memorial Service is from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m., followed by light refreshments. Tom Ludka, Chief Sergeant (retired), will be this year’s speaker.

Wisconsin Memorial Park - Avenue of Flags
Sunday, Nov. 11 at 9:30 a.m.
More than 1,500 flags will be on display, weather permitting.

Luncheon for Veterans

“Polish American Congress is holding a Luncheon for Polish Independence/Veterans Day. We welcome new members who do not have to be Polish. Cost is $30 for luncheon which includes cash bar, raffle, music and program of honoring those who have served.”
