This Memorial Day, take the time to honor those who gave so much for our freedom. We've compiled this list of local events that honor our veterans. If you know of an event we should include, please e-mail us and let us know.

Bay View - Woodlawn Cemetery, 614 E. Howard Ave., will hold its annual Memorial Day Veterans Tribute on Monday, May 27 at 9:30 a.m. There will be an Invocation by Pastor Ton Griffey of the Milwaukee Rescue Mission and Presentation of the Memorial Wreath by Cub Scout Packs #208 and #579. Refreshments and a balloon memorial will follow the ceremony. The event will be held, rain or shine, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. The event will be held rain or shine. Brookfield - Avenues of Flags (full display) at Wisconsin Memorial Park, 13235 W. Capitol Dr. The display runs from Friday, May 24 through Monday, May 27. Click here for more information.

Brookfield - Marine Corps League Memorial Service in the Garden of Eternal Life at Wisconsin Memorial Park. Sunday, May 26 at 9:30 a.m.

Brookfield - Wisconsin Memorial Park will have several events on Monday, May 27, including a war memorabilia display, 5th District VFW Memorial Service and a musical tribute. For more information, click here.

East Troy - The Memorial Day Parade will start at 10 a.m. on Monday, May 27. The East Troy Chamber Corn and Brat Roast will also take place Memorial Day weekend. For more information, click here.

Elm Grove - Memorial Day Pancake Breakfast and Raffle at the Elm Grove Woman’s Club, 13885 Watertown Plank Rd. The breakfast and raffle is from 7:30 a.m. – 10 a.m. on Monday, May 27. Click here for more information.

Elm Grove
- Elm Grove’s Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 27 will start at 10:30 a.m. The parade begins at Elm Grove Village Park and ends at the end of Wall Street off of Elm Grove Road. Click here for more information.

Greendale - Greendale will host a Memorial Day parade, staring at 9 a.m. from Parking Street south to Greendale High School. There will be a program at the high school at 9:30 a.m.

Greenfield - Arlington Park Cemetery, 4141 S. 27th St., will hold its annual Memorial Day Veterans' Tribute in conjunction with Milwaukee County Council and American Legion, Fire Fighters Post 426 and Lakeshore Post 474. The ceremony will begin with an in-cemetery parade to the American Legion Section. Held rain or shine, the service takes place along 27th Street on the east side of the property, south of the main gate. For more information, call (414) 282-6600.

Kenosha
- Sunset Ridge Memorial Park, 6211 38th St., will hold its annual Memorial Day Veterans Tribute in conjunction with American Legion David Leet Post #552 on Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m. The ceremony will include a salute from the David Leet Post 552 Rifle Squad and the Placing of the Memorial Wreath. The event will be held, rain or shine, and attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. For more information, call (262) 652-7488.

Menomonee Falls -  Menomonee Falls will have a Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. The parade starts at Main Street and Harrison Street, and will travel west on Main Street to Grand Avenue. It will then head north, ending in Neu’s parking lot. Click here for more information.

Mequon - The Annual Mequon-Thiensville Memorial Day parade sponsored by the Howard J. Schroeder American Legion Post 457 is on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. It starts at the Grace Lutheran Church in Thiensville and finishes at Mequon City Hall. After the parade there is a ceremony at Mequon City Hall, followed by lunch at the Post Clubhouse, 6006 W. Mequon Rd. For more information, contact the Post at (262) 242-5890.

Milwaukee - West Side Soldiers Aid Society Annual Tribute to Union Soldiers. Sunday May, 26 at 1 p.m. at the Forest Home Cemetery, 2405 W. Forest Home Ave. Click here for more information.

Milwaukee
– The City of Milwaukee will host the 148th Annual Memorial Day Parade on Monday, May 27 at 2 p.m.  The parade starts at Fourth and Wells and ends at Veterans Park on the lakefront. Memorial Day activities will start immediately after the parade. There will be a wreath laying ceremony, and the Milwaukee Metropolitan Community Concert Band will perform. Milwaukee - The Zablocki VA Medical Center will host a ceremony at Wood National Cemetery, 5000 W. National Ave., at 9 a.m. Steve L. Muro, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs' undersecretary for memorial affairs, will be the speaker.

Milwaukee - A Memorial Day service and Civil War celebration will be held at Calvary Cemetery, 5503 W. Blue Mound Road. Archbishop Jerome Listecki will lead a service at 10 a.m.. The Memorial Day ceremony starts at 11 a.m. and features Civil War historian Lance Herdegen as a speaker.

New Berlin - The New Berlin VFW Post 5716 will host a Memorial Day Service at Highland Park Memorial Cemetery, 14875 W. Greenfield Ave on Monday, May 27 at 11 a.m.

Oak Creek - Forest Hill Memorial Park, 3301 E. Forest Hill Ave., will hold its annual Memorial Day Veterans Tribute on Monday, May 27 at 9 a.m. This event, held by the Meyer-Dziedzic VFW Post #8482 and the Oelschlaeger-Dallmann American Legion Post #434, will be begin with an in-cemetery parade to the New Veterans Garden of Honor. Refreshments will be served after the ceremony, which will happen rain or shine. Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs. For more information, call (414) 762-4446

Wales - Active duty military, veterans and their families will be given complimentary access to select facilities at The Legends Club on Tuesday, May 28. For more information, visit http://www.thelegendclubs.com/

Waukesha - A Memorial Day parade will kick off at Schuetze Recreation Center in Frame Park at 10:15 a.m. The parade will be followed by a ceremony to honor veterans in Cutler Park at 11 a.m.

Wauwatosa – Memorial Day Observance Program at Longfellow Middle School Auditorium, 7600 W. North Ave. The program starts at 10:30 a.m. and will feature Eugene G. Schulz, WWII veteran and author of "The Ghost in General Patton's Third Army."

West Allis - The Allied Veterans Committee will sponsor the Memorial Day parade on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. The parade starts at South 70th Street and West Greenfield Avenue. It will proceed west on West Greenfield Avenue to South 75th Street, then south on 75th Street to West National Avenue.  The parade will follow West National Ave to Veterans’ Memorial Park, 1545 S. 69th St., where it will disband on South 70th Street. A memorial service at Veterans’ Memorial Park will follow at 11 a.m.
