2008 Official Contest Rules

The following rules apply in contests or promotions associated with WTMJ-AM, which is owned and operated by the Journal Broadcast Group, Inc.  By participating in any such contests or promotions, participants agree to be bound by these rules. In addition, particular contests and promotions may have rules that are specific to those contests or promotions.  If the particular rules for a specific contest or promotion conflict with the following general rules, the particular rules will control

1. NO PURCHASE NECESSARY TO ENTER OR WIN. Offer void where prohibited.

2. Must be 21 years of age or older to win.

3. From July 31-August 11 2008, Newsradio 620 WTMJ will qualify winners to win two trips-for-two to Mexico. One trip is to the Riu Caribe in Cancun, Mexico, the other is Riu Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta. Here’s how it’ll work: WTMJ has produced 60,000 contest cards which will be distributed to fairgoers in the Cream Puff Building at the Wisconsin State Fair from July 31 - August 10, 2008. When a fairgoer purchases a cream puff, he/she will be handed a contest card to complete with their personal information and place in the Cream Puff Dream Vacations contest entry bin inside the Cream Puff Building at the Wisconsin State Fair. Then on-air during 620 WTMJ’s Wisconsin’s Morning News at 7:15 a.m. and The Green House at 4:15 p.m. weekdays from July 31-Aug 11, 2008, the host will announce the first, last name, and city of the qualifying contest entry. In the event of breaking news or sport ing event the contest time will air after breaking news and/or conclusion of sporting event. The qualifier then must call 414-799-1620 within 20 minutes to qualify for a chance to win  a trip for two to Mexico.  All qualifiers will win a pair of Brewers vs. Pirates tickets for Friday, August 22nd.Two qualifiers names will be chosen and notified by phone on August 11th to win a trip to Mexico. Winners receive a trip-for-two to the Riu Caribe in Cancun, Mexico, or the Riu Vallarta in Puerto Vallarta which includes a 4-night hotel accommodation and roundtrip Charter/UA Value airfare from Midway, IL, Chicago O’Hare, IL, or Milwaukee, WI. Winners will also receive a $100 gift card to BP-gas with Invigorate, a new additive to help your car run younger for longer.

4. . One qualifier/winner per household for run of contest.

5. Contest cards available while supplies last. One contest card per person per visit.

6. Contest cards will also be available for pick-up at WTMJ Studios, 720 E. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, WI. One card per person per run of contest.

7. Winners will be issued certificates redeemable for scheduling their own travel, certain blackout dates and travel restrictions may apply.  All travel is subject to availability and Funjet Vacations' discretion for airfare. Funjet Vacations reserves the right to change the air portion of the trip at any time. Holiday, convention periods, and special events are blacked out: see certificate for dates and expiration of prize.
8. Prize Value: $2500.00 per trip-for-two. Winner is responsible for any taxes and additional costs not described as prize including international fees and taxes, passenger facility charges, segment fees and September 11th security fee.

9. Qualifiers contest entries will be selected via random drawing throughout the run of contest.

10. Employees and their immediate families of Journal Broadcast Group, any subsidiary of Journal Communications, Inc. and their families, MARS (Milwaukee Area Radio Stations), Wisconsin State Fair, Fox World Travel, Funjet Vacations, Riu Hotels & Resorts, and Wisconsin Baker’s Association (WBA), employees and their affiliated companies are not eligible to win.

11. All prizes are non-transferable and cannot be exchanged or redeemed for cash, merchandise or other prizes.

12. Odds of winning are dependent on the number of contest cards completed and received in the official entry bin inside the Cream Puff Building at the Wisconsin State Fair. Neither 620 WTMJ nor any affiliate of Journal Communications, Inc. or any of the participating sponsors shall be responsible for misplaced or lost contest cards.

13. Winner is required to provide name, address, city, state, zip code, daytime phone number, social security number and birth date to claim prize. Any other information given is done voluntarily.

14. Any potential winner and winner's guest must sign a travel release form, an affidavit of eligibility/prize acceptance form and release of liability within 30 days of notification. Non-compliance with this time period may result in forfeiture of prize.

15. Social Security number is required for acceptance of prize.

16. Acceptance of prize constitutes permission to the sponsors, radio station, and its agencies to use the winner’s name and/or likeness for the purpose of advertising and trade without further compensation.

17. By accepting prize, winner agrees to hold sponsors, their respective directors, officers, employees and assigns, harmless against any and all claims and liability arising out of use of prize. Winners assume all liability for any injury or damage caused, or claims to be caused, by participation in this promotion or use or redemption of prize.

18. By participating in this contest, entrants agree to be bound by the Official Rules and the decisions of the judges. The decision of the judges is final.

19. WTMJ and/or Funjet Vacations, Fox World Travel, Riu Hotels & Resorts, Wisconsin State Fair, and The Wisconsin Bakers Association reserve the right to substitute a prize of equal or greater value if the prize becomes unavailable.

20. WTMJ-AM reserves the right to end this promotion or vary prizes at any time without prior notice. As a licensee of the FCC and trustee of the public airwaves,  WTMJ-AM reserves the right to interrupt and/or discontinue any contest or promotion (and not award the offered prize) at the discretion of WTMJ-AM management if world events, the national mood, or public safety so warrant. 

21. For the names of winners of prizes valued at $25 or more, available after August 14th, send your request with a stamped, self-addressed (#10) envelope to: Cream Puff Dream Vacations Contest, 620 WTMJ, 720 E. Capitol Drive, Milwaukee, WI 53212.
