Justice? What Justice?
Sometimes there is just no justice.
“My mommy and daddy are so rich that and so busy that they never took the time to teach me right from wrong”. That is basically the defense used by a rich spoiled Texas teenager who killed four people in a drunk driving crash.
And even worse than the defense used by 16 year old Ethan Couch is the fact that a judge bought it. Couch’s legal team successfully argued that the killer needed counseling, not hard time. A judge agreed. He was facing 20 years in prison, but instead was given ten years probation.
Couch’s family is now considering sending him to a posh Southern California treatment facility that costs $500,00 a year.
In June the 16 year old was wacked out on booze and valium when he lost control of his pick-up truck and smashed into a broken down car on the side of the road.
The 24 year old stranded driver was killed instantly, along with three Good Samaritans. Seven teens were riding in Crouch’s truck at the time. Two of them were in the truck bed and were critically injured.
Authorities say Couch was going 70 miles per hour in a 40 mile per hour zone at the time of the crash and his breathalyzer test showed his blood alcohol content was .24. That’s three times the legal limit.
Prosecutors say Couch and his buddies were partying with beer stolen from Walmart and were on another booze run when the crash occurred.
Couch’s defense team successfully argued that he was the product of a broken home who got whatever he wanted from his wealthy parents and didn’t understand consequences.
What an embarrassing crock of garbage. Are you kidding me? This spoiled, punk kid is suffering almost no consequences for his atrocious actions. Spoiled or not, he still should be held accountable for his decisions. HE KILLED FOUR PEOPLE!
The judge in this case is a joke. A total joke. An embarrassing joke.
