I Love Me Some Kringle

I’m not a big breakfast guy.

As I’ve gotten older and my metabolism has slowed down a little bit, I have tried to make sure that I eat something at the beginning of the day.  Usually it means a banana and some sort of breakfast bar.  One of my favorite treats to have for breakfast is some good Racine Kringle.  Whenever we have overnight guests I try to pick up some Kringle for breakfast.

And for my money the O & H Danish Bakery in Racine makes the best Kringle.

Eric Olesen from O & H recently paid us a visit to the studio to celebrate the state legislature’s genius decision to declare the Kringle the state’s official pastry.

Check out this fresh Kringle that they made for us in the shape of the State of Wisconsin.  Every Kringle is made by hand.  Every one of them.

We sampled the classic pecan and a great cherry one. 

They even brought us some Key Lime Kringle.  It was amazing.

And there was a surprise Kringle that is so new it hasn’t even been named.  It had Door County cherries and cream cheese.  Yum.  Yum. Yum.
