Fight for Air Climb 2013: What a Great Success

  • Print

What a day.

On Saturday almost 2600 climbers tackled the 1000+ stairs at the U.S. Bank building in downtown Milwaukee in the American Lung Association's Fight for Air Climb. And $540,000 was raised.

The total number of participants and total amount of money raised beats all other similar events in the country. They do similar climbs in Chicago and New York city and Boston. But none do it like we do in Milwaukee.  It is a direct reflection of the dedicated staff and the incredible, visionary leadership of ALA- Wisconsin CEO Sue Swan.

There were more than 225 firefighters that took on the 40+ flights of stairs.  And they did it wearing 50 pounds of gear!

Today's TMJ 4 meteorologist Brian Gotter even did the climb.  Three times!.

Great event.  Great community participation.  We rock in Milwaukee!
