Hey Putnam and Tew, Stay Off the Road!
This is 29 year old Jessie Putnam. The Milwaukee County Sheriff's Office says says last night at 9pm Putnam rear ended another car on I-94 eastbound at 121st St. She then fled. She was followed by a witness and evntually arrested. Putnam blew a .16 on the portable breathalyzer. The driver of the vehicle Putnam struck was transported to the hospital for evaluation of neck and back pain. Putnam was cited for OWI-3rd.
44 year old Kelly Tew was arrested early this morning when a Milwaukee County Sheriff's Deputy saw him swerving on US 45 near Burleigh. When asked if he had been drinking, he said, "I had a little bit too much." He had a LOT too much. He blew a .18, more than double the legal limit. Tew was arrested for OWI-4th. His prior convictions were in Virginia, Maryland, and Alaska.
The drinking and driving epidemic continues in Wisconsin. The only way it will be slowed is with real life consequences for those that engage in it. We are working with the Milwaukee County Sheriff as well as State Senator Alberta Darling and State Representative Jim Ott to keep us all safer by changing the laws.
