Doesn't Abraham Lincoln's Birthday Trump Paczki Day?

  • Print

I loved baked goods as much as the next guy, but there is something that is kind of rubbing me the wrong way today.

It’s Fat Tuesday.  There are Paczkis and other baked goods all around the building.  You can’t walk into an office or room here today without tripping over a pile of pastries. It’s also the talk topic of the day.  Everywhere I go I’m hearing, “Did you try a Paczki?” or “You know there’s Paczki’s across the hall”. Yes, I know.

Do you know what else today is?  It’s Abraham Lincoln’s birthday. Lincoln was born on February 12, 1809.  That’s 204 years ago.

I haven’t heard one person mention Lincoln’s birthday. He may be the greatest American President.  He may be the reason that we are still the UNITED States of America.

I just wish there was a little less Paczki talk and little more Lincoln talk.

I’m just sayin’.
