Ravens Cheerleader Benched for Super Bowl
This is 23 year old Courtney Lenz. She has been a Baltimore Ravens cheerleader for five years.
When the Ravens made it to the Super Bowl, Lenz assumed she would be one of the 32 Ravens cheerleaders headed to New Orleans. (They have team of 60.)
It ends up that Lenz wasn't selected to go. As a matter of fact she was the only cheerleader with at least three years experience not selected. Lenz says it was because he gained weight during the season.
The five foot three inch Lenz says she weighed 124 pounds most of the season before tipping the scales at 125.5 pounds recently. She was also disciplined once earlier in the year for being slight over weight.
"They didn't specifically say that I was disqualified for the weight gain, but when it comes down to it, that's the only disciplinary action I had during the year," Lenz said. "Anybody that had disciplinary action taken during the year was automatically disqualified. However there are some girls on the team that were also benched for their weight and are going."
