What You Need To Know If Heading to Lambeau This Weekend
I will be up at the Packers' game this weekend. I'm psyched.
For three years we lived in a home just across the street from Lambeau. We parked cars in our yard. We could get about 50 cars in. We still keep in touch with some of the friends we made parking those cars. We were so close to the stadium, that when the weather was nice and the windows were open we would mute the TV if the Packers scored a TD and the sound of the stadium would come thundering into our home. We were there the two years they went to the Super Bowl in the 90's. It was a magical time.
If you're heading to the game this weekend there are a couple of things you need to know.
Get there early. Enhanced security remains in place. Everyone entering the stadium will be wanded and with layers people will be wearing it could take longer. Get there early so you're in your seat before kickoff.
The other thing to be aware of is that all alcohol sales will end at the beginning of the third quarter. Normally alcohol is sold through the third quarter and ends at the beginning of the fourth quarter. This Saturday it ends at the beginning of the third quarter.
"It's just the smart thing for us to do," Doug Collins the Packers director of corporate security told us. "It's a late game, and a divisional game. People will be pretty amped up and we just want everyone to have a safe, enjoyable environment."
