JP Tokoto to Decide This Week
Highly recruited junior narrows down choices
The last few years have been magical at the Menomonee Falls High School gym. Roy Williams of North Carolina and Bill Self of Kansas have been there. Kentucky's John Calipari has come to hang out. Michigan State's Tom Izzo spent a chilly Friday in our neck of the woods. Marquette's Buzz Williams has been in the house. Scouts from Georgetown and UCLA have also walked through the gym doors. Wisconsin coach Bo Ryan has been there more often than most Menomonee Falls residents. They all come to see one thing: Junior Forward JP Tokoto.
More than a dozen top tier universities have offered Tokoto full rides. How good is this kid? Let's answer it this way; Tokoto has already knocked Duke, Georgetown, Arizona, Florida and Texas no thanks.
The 6' 7" small forward has narrowed his final list to North Carolina, Wisconsin, Kansas, UConn, Marquette, Maryland, UCLA and Kentucky. Several sources are reporting that he will announce a decision this Friday. Most experts believe that North Carolina and Wisconsin have the best chance of landing Tokoto.
The best news for high school basketball fans is that regardless of where he decides to go, it will be after one more year of high school basketball. The big time coaches will no longer be at the Falls gym, but the thundering dunks and towering rebounds will be.
