Big Badger/Packer Weekend
I'm a football junkie. Actually I'm pretty much a sports junkie. And I'm going to really get my fix this weekend. Saturday is going to be awesome. The Badgers are slight underdogs against the Horned Frogs. The way I see it, any team named after a small amphibian has a whole lot of 'not much chance' against the Red and White. Badgers and their fans have a lot of heart. This picture someone sent to me taken at Michigan's Big House sums up the Badger spirit.
And remember the controversy earlier this month about how Rose Bowl officials won't play "Jump Around" between the 3rd and 4th quarter like the do at Camp Randall? Officials called it a "Wisconsin song" and said they wanted to remain neutral. That got me thinking, is there precedence for this? I found this video clip that captures "Jump Around" being played at the 2008 Outback Bowl in Tampa when the Badgers took on Tennessee.
On Sunday I'll be parked in front of the big screen watching the Pack put the beat down on the Bears. I do have to admit that I'm a little disappointed that the Pacekrs won't get to face the Bears in the frist round of the playoffs. As disappointed as I am, I imagine the Bears are just as relieved.
A football weekend. I love it.
