Meet Crystal Gunns - Former Lunch Lady

  • Print

Last June, the Vineland, New Jersey School District hired 29-year-old Louisa Tuck as a part-time cafeteria and playground aide at the school.  Tuck also works with children at the YMCA of Vineland.

Everything was going along fine until November when school officials learned that Louisa Tuck had starred in adult-oriented movies, performances and photo shoots under the name "Crystal Gunns".  Although it' has been five years since Tuck/Gunns was involved in the "adult entertainment industry", her films (all of which are described as "solo performances") and her photos are readily available over the internet.  As a matter of fact, up to a couple of weeks ago, a web site with photos and videos of Tuck/Gunns was readily accessible through Crystalgunns.com.

After Tuck's past was revealed, several parents demanded that she be fired.  The School District, on advice of counsel, indicated that it had no basis to discharge her.  Late last week, Tuck took the School District off the hook by voluntarily resigning.

As I recall, the lunch lady at my middle school was named Mrs. Shapiro.  I don't have a vivid recollection of Mrs. Shapiro but I'm relatively confident that she didn't look much like Crystal Gunns, er, Louisa Tuck.  If she had, I'm sure that I would have remembered.

Later today, we'll discuss whether Ms. Tuck should have been forced out of her job at the school.
