A Mom Who Places Blame Where It Belongs
Virginia Justice is one of my new heroes.
On November 2nd, Virginia's 6-year-old son Jason was riding his bike through the parking lot of a Phoenix apartment complex. A surveilance camera shows Jason riding directly into the path of a car driven by a Phoenix police officer (who was proceeding slowly through the parking lot).
The video of the ensuing impact is horrendous. Miraculously, the child escaped essentially unharmed.
Many parents would take this incident as an opprtunity to blast (and perhaps sue) the Phoenix Policer Department. Not Mrs. Justice.
While obviously relieved that her child wasn't seriously injured, Mrs. Justice is placing blame where it belongs. Namely, she's upset with her kid for riding his bike into the path of a squad car. She's also grounded her son until he gets his bike fixed and strts wearing a helmet.
How refreshing - and how unique!
