Maybe I now understand why the Mayor of Chicago wants the bars around Wrigley Field to stop selling beer after the seventh inning of Cubs playoff games. Those wacky Cubs fans are already fighting - and the playoffs haven't even started.
84 year old Jerry Slavin has been a Cubs season ticket holder for decades. For the last several years, he has sold all his tickets ( 4 tickets per game, 81 games per season) to Laurence Wright, a friend of Slavin's son. Wright and his business partner Brad Ginsburg split the tickets between themselves and distribute some to clients.
According to Wright, he and Slavin have had a "handshake" agreement that Wright would also have an option to purchase home playoff tickets should the Cubs make the post-season. Slavin denies that there was an agreement and says that he wants to keep the seats for himself.
Later today, we'll discuss who should get the tickets (to hopefully watch the Cubs lose to the Brewers)!
