The Hollywood Hypocrites
I guess that being a limousine liberal means never worrying about looking foolish.
Ever since President Obama started saber rattling about bombing Syria, I've been wondering what happened to the Hollywood Left? You know the crowd. Barbra Streisand, Tim Robbins, Janene Garofalo, Susan Sarandon, Matt Damon, Alec Baldwin and all the other Hollywood loudmouths who spent the Bush years denouncing the President as a war monger and criminal.
So where is all the outrage now that it's their guy who wants take extremely unpopular military action with little international support? I mean seriously, who wants to go to war if your biggest ally will be France? Do you really want to count on the French to have your back when things get hot?
What's the matter Sean Penn? Cat got your tongue? Martin Sheen and Mike Farrell? Lost your voices?
Leave it to Ed "Lou Grant" Asner to sum it up. According to Asner, Hollywood liberals aren't criticizing Obama because: "A lot of people don't want to feel anti-black by being opposed to Obama"!
So let me get this straight. If the President were white, Hollywood would feel comfortable criticizing him. However, since he's black, he can bomb whoever he wants and push for regime change in a country that poses no threat to the United States. If innocent civilians inevitably die, I guess that's okay with these celebrities too. Wow.
Face it, the so-called Hollywood Left are a bunch of hypocrites. These limousine liberals were never really anti-war, they were anti-Bush - and they used the War in Iraq as an excuse to voice their anti-Bush feelings.
If we do go ahead with plans for military action in Syria, I'll be interested to see whether these predominantly white celebrities continue to maintain their silence. My guess is that they will.
After all, what's bombing a foreign nation compared to not wanting to feel "anti-black"?
