Madison Learns That Karma Can Be A You Know What
Where is the Liberal outrage from the People's Republic of Madison?
First, the Mayor of Madison complains about too many homeless people coming to Madison and causing problems.
Wait. I thought Madison was supposed to be the liberal utopia where all people were welcomed with open arms regardless of their financial circumstances. I guess not. At least not when the reality of the "utopia" becomes clear.
Beyond this, the Mayor is now complaining that public employees are being paid too much. According to the Mayor, contracts that the City "rushed through" before Act 10 went into effect are now crippling the City's budget!
Gee, who could have seen that coming?
Mayor Paul Soglin, himself a child of the 60's, says that nobody in a position of authority calculated what the cost of the collective bargaining agreements signed in 2011 would be in 2014. Now that the costs are apparent, the City needs to ask the unions for concessions.
I wonder if the irony of this is lost on anyone out there?
Will public workers from all over the country now pour into Madison to protest the push for concessions? Will outraged students and union employees occupy City Hall?
Or will some people in Dane County finally realize that the old way of doing business was financially unsustainable and needed to be changed.
As an aside, will the Mayor and the Common Council call for the impeachment of President Obama if he begins bombing Syria? Just wondering?
Regardless, it's interesting to see that one of the most Left-leaning cities in the country is now wrestling with issues caused by, well, being one of the most Left-leaning cities in the country.
Occasionally karma can be a you-know-what.
