I can't stand a lot of the showboating that goes on in professional sports. You know, a team is losing by 20 points and a player launches into a two-minute celebration after making a tackle! I mean, "come on man", show some professionalism.
Anyway, last Saturday, Cathedral High School (Massachusetts) quarterback Matthew Owens was running toward the end zone in the State football championship. The 56-yard touchdown run would have given his team the victory. However, when Owens hit the 20-yard line, he briefly raised his left hand in celebration. The referee immediately called a penalty for "taunting".
Here's a video of the incident.
Everybody in Massachusetts (including the Governor) has an opinion on this call. We'll discuss the matter on this afternoon's show.
