Week 16 NFC Playoff Picture
The NFC isn't nearly as muddled as the AFC but much needs to be settled over the next two Sundays.
In Need of Help
New York Giants (8-6) The Giants are the only team left the NFC that is not currently holding a playoff spot but also has not been eliminated. New York needs to beat Carolina today to stay alive for the wild card race. However, a Giants loss and a Packers win eliminates New York.
Controlling Their Destiny
Dallas Cowboys (9-5) With last Saturday's win over New Orleans the Cowboys have set themselves up for not just a wild card birth but the NFC East title as well. Dallas clinches a wild card birth with a win over Washington and a Giants loss.
Green Bay Packers (9-5) You can put last week's loss behind you because there are three ways the Packers make the playoffs today: a win and a Giants loss or tie, a win and a Dallas loss or a tie and a Giants loss. Two straight wins puts the Packers in regardless of what happens in the East.
Arizona Cardinals (9-5) Arizona has clinched the NFC West and can gran a first round bye with two wins and two losses to Philadelphia and Minnesota.
Philadelphia Eagles (10-4) The Eagles have clinched a playoff birth and can win the East with a win and a Dallas loss. If not, the Eagles would need to beat the Cowboys next week. A win keeps Philadelphia alive for the #2 seed in the NFC.
Minnesota Vikings (11-3) Minnesota has clinched the NFC North and can clinch a first round bye with a win and a Philadelphia loss or tie or a tie and a Philly loss.
New Orleans Saints (13-1) New Orleans has clinched the NFC South and a first round bye. The Saints will clinch homefield advantage throughout with a win or a Minnesota loss.
