In Need Of A Festivus Miracle

Pittsburgh Steelers (6-7) Not since the 2003 Tampa Bay Buccaneers have we seen the defending Super Bowl champions fall so far so fast.  Thursday's loss to Cleveland puts Pittsburgh below .500 and now the Steelers must run the table and get lots of help to make it back to the playoffs.

Tennessee Titans (5-7) The five game winning streak ended last week against Indianapolis but there is a sliver of hope for the Titans.  Today Tennessee faces St. Louis in the first of three straight home games.

Houston Texans (5-7) Houston has lost four straight and last week's loss to Jacksonville might have been the dagger as the Jaguars win the head-to-head tiebreaker.  The Texans need to run the table and must get plenty of help against Jacksonville.

In Need Of Help

Baltimore Ravens (6-6) After the Monday night loss to the Packers the Ravens find themselves in trouble.  Unlike the AFC East teams winning the division is virtually out of the question but two winnable home games against Detroit and Chicago could put the Ravens back in the discussion

New York Jets (6-6) The Jets are rested after playing a Thursday night game but face a trap on the road against Tampa Bay today.  Despite being a game out of first place New York is on the outside edge of winning the East due to a 2-4 division record but at the same time nabbing a wild card spot will likely mean winning out.

Miami Dolphins (6-6) Keep your eye on Miami.  The Dolphins are at Jacksonville today and a win puts the Dolphins right in the center of the wild card race.  With a 4-2 division record the Dolphins have put considerable pressure on New England in the AFC East.

Controlling Their Destiny

Jacksonville Jaguars (7-5) Beating Houston last week gave the Jaguars a key tiebreaker and they can do the same with a win over Miami.  However there's little breathing room for the Jags as they will face Indianapolis on a short week then will travel to New England.

Denver Broncos (8-4) Denver was impressive last week against Kansas City but now the Broncos go on the road to play the Colts.  The Broncos are in the driver's seat for a wild card but with a one game deficit in the West Denver must keep winning to stay alive for a division title.

Division Leaders

New England Patriots (7-5) Having lost two straight, including last week's last minute loss to Miami, the AFC East is in play but the Pats get Carolina at home today.  The big game for New England is next week's road trip to Buffalo.

Cincinnati Bengals (9-3) The Bengals were not terribly impressive with wins over Cleveland and Detroit and now Cincy faces Minnesota on the road before a monster showdown with San Diego next week.  If the Bengals win both they will be on track for the #2 seed in the AFC.

San Diego Chargers (9-3) The Chargers have an equally tough slate with a road game against Dallas today.  The Bengals game will be at home but then the Chargers turn around and play at Tennessee in a rare Friday night game.

Indianapolis Colts (12-0) Indianapolis has clinched the AFC South and will clinch the #1 seed with a win today over Denver.
