Week 17 NFC playoff picture

6:42 p.m. Here's your seeding:

1. Seattle
2. Carolina
3. NFC East champion
4. Green Bay
5. San Francisco
6. New Orleans

6:35 p.m. After a wild finish the Packers win the NFC North and will be the #4 seed.  Here's what we know so far:

1. Seattle
2. Carolina
3. NFC East champion
4. Green Bay

6:20 p.m. Seattle is well on their way to home field advantage throughout.  New Orleans also is playoff bound up by 25.  Seeding is in the air with San Francisco-Arizona tied.

Update 3:05 p.m. Carolina has clinched the NFC South.  They get the #1 seed with a San Francisco win and a Seattle loss.  The final wild card spot comes down to New Orleans or Arizona.

In Need of Help

Arizona Cardinals (10-5) To clinch a wild card berth Arizona needs a win and a New Orleans loss.

Controlling Their Destiny

Green Bay Packers (7-7-1) Green Bay clinches the NFC North with a win.

Dallas Cowboys (8-7) The Cowboys clinch the NFC East with a win.

New Orleans Saints (10-5) New Orleans clinches a playoff berth with a win or an Arizona loss.  However, to win the NFC South and a first round bye they will need help: the Saints need a win and a Carolina loss.

Already In

San Francisco 49ers (11-4) At the very least the 49ers are a wild card team.  They clinch the NFC West with a win and a Seattle loss.  Furthermore, they get home field advantage throughout with a win, a Seattle loss and a Carolina loss.

Division Leaders

Chicago Bears (8-7) Chicago clinches the NFC North with a win or a tie.

Philadelphia Eagles (9-6) Philadelphia clinches the NFC East and the #3 seed with a win or a tie.

Carolina Panthers (11-4) Carolina has clinched a playoff berth.  They will wrap up the NFC South and a first round bye with a win or a New Orleans loss.  Carolina clinches home field advantage throughout with a win, a San Francisco win and a Seattle loss.

Seattle Seahawks (12-3) Seattle clinches the NFC West and home field advantage throughout with a win or a San Francisco loss.
