NFL Week 3 preview

Some early thoughts for the weekend ahead:

Kansas City at Philadelphia, 7:25 p.m. Thursday NFL Network

So many storylines here.  High-flying offense vs. stingy defense.  Andy Reid returns to Philly.  And are either of these teams real contenders?  We'll be one step closer to having an answer after Thursday.

Detroit at Washington, 12 p.m. FOX

Sure the Redskins are reeling but this should be a high-flying affair.  Matthew Stafford and Robert Griffin III have combined for 1,284 passing yards.  We know the Redskins secondary is iffy so it could be a monster day for Calvin Johnson.

Indianapolis at San Francisco, 3:35 p.m. CBS

Indy's stock went up with the Trent Richardson trade, though he may not be in full effect this Sunday.  I'm not as high on Indianapolis as others, specifically because of their defense, so this is good bounce back spot for the 49ers offense.

Chicago at Pittsburgh, 7:30 p.m. NBC

Yes, the Bears are 2-0 and looking legitimate while the Steelers are 0-2 and banged up.  So it looks like a no-brainer for Chicago, right?  This seems like one of those vintage "any given Sunday" matchups.  If Pittsburgh loses here it might be a long season in the Steel City.
