The first touchdown

  • Print

Well, Adrian Peterson picks up right where he left off with a 78 yard touchdown run, thus producing the first TD of the opening Sunday.  It's hard to see either Peterson or the Vikings improving of last year so it might be a down year for the first-to-score trend.

Welcome to another NFL season!  After weeks of training camps and preseason games it's time to tee up another year and with it comes the annual tradition of tracking the first touchdown.  It has been an uncanny trend for a decade now...the first team to score a touchdown on the opening Sunday is in for a big season.

So, as always, get in front of a TV at 12:01 p.m.  Before that, you should tune in to the season debut of Countdown To Gameday starting at 11 a.m.  And of course follow me here and here for football chatter throughout the season.
