Bracket Brief: No bid thieves yet

Bubble teams breathe a little easier tonight after Gonzaga's impressive win over St. Mary's in the West Coast Conference championship.  The Zags can now ride their #1 ranking into the NCAA Tournament while St. Mary's must wait six days to see if they qualify as an at-large team.

Personally, I think the Gaels have a strong enough case.  They've only lost three times since Christmas (all to Gonzaga) and had a late season quality win over Creighton.  But as Tom Petty once said, the waiting is the hardest part, and it's a long wait til Selection Sunday.

Davidson, Western Kentucky, James Madison and Iona all punched their ticket to the Big Dance as well.  Thanks to Iona's second half comeback we are spared having a second team with a losing record qualify for the tournament.

Speaking of Selection Sunday, I'm really looking forward to the latest 30 for 30 movie.  ESPN has put out some great documentaries in the past and this one should rank right up there.
