Packers-Giants: Three keys

  • Print

More of the same When you have a five game winning streak going there's no reason to deviate from what has worked.  Look for balanced playcalling, an opportunistic defense (even without Matthews) and another grind-it-out approach.  It won't be pretty but it is effective.

Un-ELIte What happened to Eli Manning?  Going into New York's bye last week Manning had thrown no touchdowns and four interceptions in three games.  Manning hasn't had a multi-TD game since October 7.  But Manning knows how to throw against the Packers secondary.  The Packers can't let Manning get back on track this week.

Big Blue Wrecking Crew New York's defense has taken a step backwards since last January and over the last five quarters against Pittsburgh and Cincinnati the Giants yielded 45 points.  New York comes into the week with just 25 sacks, 2.5 per game, down from 3.0 sacks per game average in 2011.  That doesn't mean it'll be a field day for the Packers.  Pass protection is still an issue and the Giants have 27 takeaways on the year.  The Packers don't have to be perfect but that can't afford many mistakes tonight.

Prediction Packers 28, Giants 26
