Geek's college football top 25-November 7

Four weeks left in the season and four teams remain in the national title race.  Alabama's win confirms their superiority but there's plenty of debating left as to who is the second best team in the country.  Also, I"m leap-frogging Florida State over Clemson despite FSU having a bye last week.  The Seminoles beat the Tigers back in September and thus have the tiebreaker to win the ACC.  It's not likely that either team can factor into the national championship mix but crazier things have happened.

1. Alabama 9-0 (1) Tide have one more big test this week before SEC title game

2. Oregon 9-0 (2) Ducks piled up the points at USC in classic Pac 12 shootout

3. Kansas State 9-0 (3) Status of Klein is up in the air for TCU game

4. Notre Dame 9-0 (4) Avoided letdown against Pitt, must regain footing vs BC

5. Ohio State 10-0 (5) Buckeyes are off this week before two week "postseason"

6. Florida State 8-1 (8) Thursday game for Seminoles vs slumping Va Tech

7. Clemson 8-1 (7) Crushed Coastal-leading Duke last week; need help to win Atlantic

8. Georgia 8-1 (9) Bulldogs clinch SEC East with a win over Auburn

9. Florida 8-1 (10) Survived challenge from Mizzou, won't be tested again til FSU game

10. Louisville 9-0 (11) Finally, a comfortable win for the Cardinals

11. LSU 7-2 (6) Loss to Alabama ends chance for back-to-back conference titles

12. South Carolina 7-2 (12) Hosting subpar Arkansas this week

13. Oklahoma 6-2 (13) Sooners bounced back with win over Iowa State

14. Texas 7-2 (15) Longhorns are winners of three straight

15. Oregon State 7-1 (18) Crucial matchup with Stanford this weekend

16. Texas A&M 7-2 (19) Throttled Miss State on the road; will need duplicate performance vs Tide

17. Stanford 7-2 (20) Cardinal have path to Rose Bowl but face three tough teams

18. Nebraska 7-2 (23) Best eligible team in the Big 10

19. UCLA 7-2 (NR) Impressive win vs Arizona, get breather this week

20. Northern Illinois 9-1 (NR) Off week before Wednesday game vs Toledo

21. Louisiana Tech 8-1 (NR) 2nd highest scoring team in the land

22. Rutgers 7-1 (NR) Can still win Big East; non-conference tilt with Army this week

23. Northwestern 7-2 (NR) Big road showdown against Michigan

24. Kent State 8-1 (NR) Seven game winning streak

25. Mississippi State 7-2 (17) Season is slipping away
