The WSW college football top 25-September 26

  • Print

Another weekend of college football is upon us.  Last week featured two huge matchups that shook up the ACC and Big XII.  This week has a bit more of the calm-before-the-storm feel to it.

1. Alabama 4-0 (1) Tide defense finally gives up a score but still rolls

2. LSU 4-0 (2) Should get easy win vs Towson this week before brutal five week stretch

3. Oregon 4-0 (3) Impressive defensive performance vs Arizona closes gap for #2 ranking

4. Florida State 4-0 (4) 35 point 2nd half outburst vs Clemson proves 'Noles have plenty of offense

5. Georgia 4-0 (5) Average margin of victory in conference play is 33 points

6. South Carolina 4-0 (6) Gearing up for a make-or-break October

7. Kansas State 4-0 (9) Huge win in Norman puts K-State in Big XII driver's seat...for now

8. Stanford 3-0 (10) 12 day layover since USC win, do they still have momentum?

9. Texas 3-0 (11) Can Longhorns survive 4 week stretch of OSU, WV, OU and Baylor?

10. Florida 4-0 (12) Gators have week off to prepare for LSU

11. Notre Dame 4-0 (13) Intercepting five straight passes always helps

12. Ohio State 4-0 (14) Slogged through another win

13. TCU 3-0 (17) Nation's #1 defense has yielded 13 points all year

14. Louisville 4-0 (16) Barely escaped at FIU last week

15. West Virginia 3-0 (18) Mountaineers can climb the rankings in the next two weeks

16. Oklahoma 2-1 (7) Sooners get a bye week to re-group

17. Clemson 3-1 (8) Inability to hold 2nd half lead could cost Tigers shot at BCS title

18. Mississippi State 4-0 (23) Off week for Bulldogs before the fun really begins

19. Northwestern 4-0 (21) 4-0 Wildcats on top of Legends Division but for how long?

20. USC 3-1 (24) Trojans back on track in Pac 12 play

21. Iowa State 3-0 (20) Conference play begins, can Cyclones hang around?

22. Texas Tech 3-0 (22) Killer stretch begins with road game at ISU

23. Ohio 4-0 (25) Playing winless UMass this week should mean 5-0 start

24. Rutgers 4-0 (NR) A win in Fayetteville is still impressive

25. Baylor 3-0 (NR) Survived weekly Louisiana-Monroe scare
