Welcome to the first Wisconsin Sports Weekend top 25 of 2012. As many of you know I have a disdain for preseason polls which emphasis perception and what teams did last year. I feel it takes three weeks to get a feel for the landscape so without further ado:
1. Alabama 3-0 Better than last year's championship team
2. LSU 3-0 Right now, the only team capable of beating Alabama
3. Oregon 3-0 Explosive offense has averaged 54 points per game
4. Florida State 3-0 Seminoles have given up a total of three points thus far
5. Georgia 3-0 Three impressive wins vs FBS schools
6. South Carolina 3-0 Passed early road test vs Vandy
7. Oklahoma 2-0 Rebounded after lackluster Week 1 win
8. Clemson 3-0 Tigers are ready for ACC game of the year vs FSU
9. Kansas State 3-0 Three home wins. Next up, huge showdown in Norman
10. Stanford 3-0 Cardinal stun USC yet again
11. Texas 3-0 How often does a team score 66 vs SEC team on the road?
12. Florida 3-0 Gators already have two road conference wins
13. Notre Dame 3-0 Irish finally have a defense
14. Ohio State 3-0 Best team in a weak Big 10
15. UCLA 3-0 Powerhouse running game has Bruins on track
16. Louisville 3-0 Cardinals have wins vs SEC and ACC opponents
17. TCU 2-0 Passed first road test vs the big boys
18. West Virginia 2-0 Mountaineers have not been challenged yet
19. Arizona 3-0 Averaging 46 points per game, Wildcats might keep up with Oregon
20. Iowa State 3-0 Next three weeks will determine if Cyclones are for real
21. Northwestern 3-0 Solid but not spectacular vs three FBS opponents
22. Texas Tech 3-0 Average margin of victory is 40 points
23. Mississippi State 3-0 Could be 7-0 before date with the Tide
24. USC 2-1 BCS, Rose Bowl and Heisman plans derailed by Stanford
25. Ohio 3-0 Impressive season opening win at Penn State
