Bad news if you're a New York Yankees hater. Kentucky's win in Monday's national championship pretty much guarantees that the Yankees are destined to win the World Series this year.
With the victory over Kansas the Wildcats won their eighth NCAA Tournament. Their first was in 1948 but since then every time Kentucky won the NCAA Tournament the Yankees followed suit with a World Series title later that year.
It happened in 1949, 1951, 1958, 1978, 1996 and 1998. Coincidence? Maybe. Uncanny? Absolutely. But I'm not the only one buying into this argument.
So I'm calling it now: the 2012 World Series champion New York Yankees.
