The 12 Days Of Football

  • Print

Merry Christmas and welcome to a stretch that will feature football on TV for the next 12 days.  That takes us through Weeks 16 & 17 as well as most of the bowls.  Here's a quick rundown of what's at stake today:

Dallas can clinch the NFC East with a win and a Giants loss.  The Eagles-Cowboys game carries significance for both teams as Philly can sneak into the playoffs with two wins, a Giants loss this week and a Cowboys loss next week.

Detroit clinches a wild card birth with a win over San Diego.  Or they could take the hard route and lose yet still clinch if the Giants, Bears, Seahawks and Cardinals all lose.

The Packers clinch homefield advantage throughout with a San Francisco loss so keep your eye on the 49ers-Seahawks late afternoon game.

On the AFC Side, New England clinches a first round bye with a win over Miami.  The Patriots can also gift wrap a number one seed with a win and losses to both Pittsburgh and Baltimore.

Baltimore takes the AFC North with a win and a Pittsburgh loss.

Denver wins the AFC West with a victory and and losses to both Oakland and San Diego.

And while wrapping that last present you can catch the Hawaii Bowl tonight.  Why not give that special someone the gift of the pistol offense?
