Packers-Saints: Three Keys

  • Print

Finley At His Finest Last we saw of the Saints they were giving up two red zone touchdowns to Seattle tight end John Carlson.  Look for the Packers to test the Saints linebackers by getting Jermichael Finley and company on a mismatch.  Indeed, the New Orleans secondary will be challenged throughout the night but if Aaron Rodgers gets his choice of targets it could be a big night for the tight end.

Grounded Much has been made of the Saints running game with the additions of Darren Sproles and Mark Ingram.  Prior to the final preseason game the Packers run defense was not solid and even though the Saints have the aerial firepower to match Green Bay's it will be interesting to see how often the Saints keep the ball on the ground.

Roman Candle New Orleans safety Roman Harper is one of those guys who need to be accounted for on every play.  Harper forced six fumbles last year and has the ability to crowd the line of scrimmage and blitz off the corner.  If the Packers cannot establish anything on the ground the Saints will likely try to tee off on Rodgers by blitzing at will with Harper leading the way.
