Preliminary 2011 NFL Draft Order

  • Print

For 20 teams the offseason begins today and that means turning the focus to the draft.  For the non-playoff teams the draft order of the first round is set.  I have filled out the rest of the draft order based purely on how I think the playoffs might shake out.

If the Packers lose this weekend they will pick behind Kansas City and Indianapolis if one or both teams also lose due to strength of schedule.  The team with the weaker schedule is awarded the higher pick.  St. Louis would have picked no higher than 21st had they won the NFC West.  Instead they will pick 14th.  New England gets Oakland's first rounder thanks to the Richard Seymour trade so the Patriots will once again have two first round picks.

In the coming weeks look for the updated order, a breakdown of each team's season and of course the mock draft.

1. Carolina (2-14)

2. Denver (4-12)

3. Buffalo (4-12)

4. Cincinnati (4-12)
