Week 17 Playoff Update (6:21 pm)
Playoff bound...Nick Collins saves the 10-3 win for the Packers, eliminating the Giants and Buccaneers from playoff contention. So, the Packers will head to Philadelphia next week. Next week's NFC wild card games will be Packers at Eagles & Saints at Rams/Seahawks
Adam Vinatieri is Mr. Clutch again...his 43 yard field goal lifted Indianapolis over Tennessee 23-20 and thus clinch the AFC South. So the AFC wild card games are secured: Jets at Colts & Ravens at Chiefs
The Packers need to get something offensively to get to the postseason as Chicago leads 3-0 at the half. Here's how the NFC seeds look: Atlanta and Chicago both get first round byes. Philadelphia will be the #3 and will face either the Packers, Giants or Buccaneers. New Orleans will go on the road to play the St. Louis-Seattle winner.
Indianapolis leads Tennessee 13-6 while Houston grabbed the lead late in the half, 20-17 over Jacksonville. The Jaguars need a win and a Colts loss to win the AFC South otherwise the Colts win it
For the second straight year Tampa Bay goes into New Orleans and comes away with a victory. By beating the Saints 23-13 Tampa Bay takes the first step toward a Festivus miracle. Now the Packers must beat the Bears to make the playoffs.
Atlanta dominated Carolina 31-10 to clinch homefield advantage throughout the playoffs. So the good news is Chicago has nothing to play for now.
Pittsburgh wins the AFC North and will be the #2 seed in the playoffs. That means Baltimore will be the #5 while the Jets are the six seed.
With Kansas City losing to Oakland the Chiefs may become the #4 seed if Indianapolis wins later today. If that is the case than the AFC wild card matchups would be Baltimore at Kansas City and New York at Indianapolis.
