Week 17 AFC Playoff Picture
In Need Of A Festivus Miracle
Jacksonville Jaguars (8-7) There's only one path to the playoff for Jacksonville and that's to win the AFC South. To do that the Jaguars need to beat Houston and Indianapolis needs to lose to Tennessee. Making matters worse the Jaguars will play today without quarterback David Garrard and running back Maurice Jones-Drew. It took a Hail Mary for Jacksonville to beat Houston the first time around and the Jaguars will need another miracle to make the playoffs.
In Need Of Help
Baltimore Ravens (11-4) The Ravens have clinched a playoff spot but have an outside shot at winning the division and getting a first round bye. To do that Baltimore needs a win over Cincinnati and a Pittsburgh loss to Cleveland. As it is now Baltimore would play at Indianapolis in the wild card round next week if the Ravens cannot clinch the division.
Controlling Their Destiny
New York Jets (10-5) The Jets have clinched a wild card spot and will be the number six seed in the playoffs.
Indianapolis Colts (9-6) An Indianapolis win or a Jacksonville loss gives the AFC South to the Colts. Indianapolis can also be the #3 seed with a win and a Kansas City loss.
Kansas City Chiefs (10-5) The Chiefs have clinched the AFC West and will be the #3 seed with a win or an Indianapolis loss.
Pittsburgh Steelers (11-4) Pittsburgh has clinched a playoff birth but the division title and a first round bye are up in the air. The Steelers win the AFC North and the #2 seed with a win or a Baltimore loss.
New England Patriots (13-2) New England has won the AFC East and will be the top seed in the AFC.
