In Need Of A Festivus Miracle

Arizona Cardinals (3-8) The Cards have lost six straight but thanks to the putrid nature of the NFC West Arizona is alive for the division.  But with only one divisional win Arizona needs to run the table and it starts today with a home game against St. Louis.

Minnesota Vikings (4-7) Four games out with five games left.  Brad Childress is long gone but the damage appears to be done for the Vikings season.  Minnesota needs to run the table to have any chance to make the postseason.

In Need Of Help

San Francisco 49ers (4-7) San Fran is still alive after the Monday night win over Arizona and now are only a game out of first place.  However the final month of the season is brutal with road games against Green Bay, San Diego and St. Louis.

Washington Redskins (5-6) Due to Philadelphia's Thursday win the Redskins are 2 1/2 games out of first place and must jump over three teams to get to the wild card.  The schedule offers no relief as the 'Skins close with the Giants twice, Tampa Bay, Jacksonville and Dallas.

Seattle Seahawks (5-6) The Seahawks are in a first place tie with St. Louis but are currently losing the head-to-head tiebreaker.  It may come down to the Week 17 rematch but in the meantime Seattle gets Carolina at home today and the 49ers on the road next week.

Green Bay Packers (7-4) Of course the Packers still have their sights on winning the division but for now they are in a three-way tie for the last wild card spot.  This means winning conference games are imperative and the Packers can catch two in a row with San Francisco and Detroit this week and next.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (7-4) The Bucs have surprised all year but face their biggest game of the season with a home game against Atlanta today.  A loss would be devastating as Tampa Bay would be looking up to both the Falcons ans Saints in the standings.

Controlling Their Destiny

New York Giants (7-4) Thanks to the strength of victory tiebreaker the Giants would be a wild card if the season were over.  The Giants can grab a wild card but are also chasing the Eagles for the division and New York needs a win over Washington today to keep pace.

New Orleans Saints (8-3) With a four game winning streak the Saints are back in old form and well rested thanks to 10 days off.  The Saints get a gimme today versus Cincinnati but face a rocky stretch to end the season: St. Louis, at Baltimore, at Atlanta, and Tampa Bay.

Division Leaders

St. Louis Rams (5-6) Thanks to a Week 4 win over Seattle the Rams hold the top spot in the West but that's the only win the Rams have in the division.  The Rams can help themselves by beating Arizona today and may need it with New Orleans and Kansas City looming on the schedule.

Philadelphia Eagles (8-4) With the 34-24 win over Houston the Eagles hold a half-game lead over New York.  The Eagles get the benefit of facing Dallas twice to end the season and a road game against the Giants on December 19 could decide the fate of the East.

Chicago Bears (8-3) The Bears are a game up in the North and have three road divisional matchups to go with home games against the Patriots and Jets.  Chicago is for real after dispatching Philly last week but the tough schedule puts Chicago's supremacy in doubt.

Atlanta Falcons (9-2) Atlanta has an open path to the top seed with two games against Carolina and a Week 16 home game versus New Orleans (where they never seem to lose as we know).  But before the Falcons can wrap it up they have a key road game against Tampa Bay today.
