After Oregon's impressive road win against USC I almost felt compelled to put the Ducks at number one. Almost. However, I appear to be in a rapidly-dwindling minority that believes the team that has been playing its best all year is still Boise State.
On tap this week is a huge weekend with BCS title elimination at stake. At the top of the list is TCU-Utah. There's only so many places at the grown-ups table for the mid-majors. LSU-Alabama looms large not just for the SEC West but both teams have an outside of shot of climbing to #2 if the season breaks a certain way. Arizona-Stanford is a huge matchup of one loss teams that could wind up in Pasadena on New Year's Day. South Carolina-Arkansas will most certainly shake up both the polls and the SEC standings. Baylor-Oklahoma State is a statement game for both programs and remember, both still play Oklahoma and can win the Big XII South.
So here you go, previous week's ranking in parentheses:
1. Boise State 8-0 (1)
2. Oregon 8-0 (2)
3. Auburn 9-0 (3)
4. TCU 9-0 (4)
