Packers-Jets: Three Keys

  • Print

Going Greene With injuries up and down the defensive line Miami and Minnesota exposed a weakness in the Packers defense by running the football.  Coming into Week Eight the Jets have the second ranked rushing offense in the league so expect a heavy dose of running backs LaDainian Tomlinson and Shonn Greene.  The Packers got relief this week by signing NT Howard Green and it looks like the Packers will need all the help they can get.

Force Mistakes Jets quarterback Mark Sanchez rarely makes mistakes having thrown only two interceptions all year.  Indeed, the Jets don't lean on him to heavily but when Sanchez drops back the Packers must put pressure on the second year quarterback.  Despite being perceived as having a lack of a pass rush the Packers have 22 sacks, the fourth highest total in the league.

Revis Island Word out of New York is shutdown cornerback Darelle Revis won't cover Greg Jennings.  While that's good news for Jennings that might mean Donald Driver could be shut out for a second straight week.  Either way this would be a good week to spread the ball around while testing New York's other cornerback Antonio Cromartie.

Prediction Jets 31, Packers 21
