The Milwaukee Brewers improved their spring training record to (5-7) after a 7-6 win over the Seattle Mariners today at the Peoria Sports Complex in Peoria, AZ. The win snapped a 10-game winning streak for the Mariners. Below is a snapshot of things that went right, and things that went wrong today.

After losing to team Canada 7-4 on Tuesday afternoon, the Brewers are back at it today against the Seattle Mariners on a sun-drenched afternoon in Peoria, AZ. Peoria Sports Complex hosts both the Mariners and San Diego Padres. That would explain the lack of a team logo behind the plate.

After taking Monday off, the Milwaukee Brewers will get a taste of the World Baseball Classic on Tuesday when they host team Canada at Maryvale Baseball Park. Making things more interesting is that the Brewers have three players who will suit up for team Canada today. Relief pitchers John Axford and Jim Henderson and infielder Taylor Green have all temporarily traded in their Brewers uniforms for one with a maple leaf.

After being scratched from his scheduled start last Sunday due to a strained groin, there was some question whether or not Brewers ace Yovani Gallardo would pitch for team Mexico in the World Baseball Classic.

The 2013 NFL league year will officially begin on March 12. At that time, teams must be at or below the $123.9 million dollar salary cap. Several teams, including the Packers, have already started unloading high priced veterans to become more cap friendly, and, in most cases, free up room to sign free agents. Did I mention that the free agent frenzy also begins on March 12?

After defeating the Angels 4-3 in Cactus League play on Saturday, the Brewers are back at it today against the Chicago Cubs at Hohokam Park in Mesa, AZ. Several thousand fans are on hand on an overcast, but warm afternoon. The Cubs routinely draw 4,500-6,500 fans for spring training games, and its not out of the ordinary for attendance to exceed 10,000. That's pretty impressive for cactus league ball.
