Lance Kendricks is a native Milwaukeean, and former standout tight end for the University of Wisconsin. After being selected in the second round of April's draft, Kendricks is currently a rookie tight end hoping to become the next in a line of freak athlete tight ends who can both strech the field and create mismatches due to his size.

In a recent players poll conducted by Sports Illustrated, Pittsburgh Steelers linebacker James Harrison was voted as being the meanest player in the NFL. Harrison, who is currently sidelined with a fractured orbital bone, received 35% of the votes among the 287 players who voted. Incidentally, Harrison was also the NFL's most fined player last season.

As expected, the inability to strike a new Collective Bargaining agreement has forced NBA commissioner David Stern to cancel the first two weeks of the NBA's regular season. Opening night was scheduled for November 1st, and the league has been locked out since July 1st.

The Milwaukee brewers are off and runing with a 1-0 lead in the NLCS after a thrilling, come-from-behind 9-6 win over the St. Louis Cardinals Sunday afternoon at Miller Park. The Brewers were keyed by a 6 run 5th inning in which Cardinals starter Jamie Garcia was roughed up for four earned runs.

1. Get off to a fast start. In two losses in Arizona, the Brewers were outscored 7-1 in the first inning. They barely had time to catch their breath in playing catch-up from the get-go. If the Brewers can get on the board first, the crowd will turn Miller Park upside down, and the Diamondbacks will press.

Super Bowl media day. It's the annual cattle call of nearly 3,000 "media" (some with more serious credentials than others) that takes place during Super Bowl week. It's one of the only events where media actually interviews other media. Again, the term "media" is a loose one as there are a host of confusing and questionable characters roaming around looking for their angle.

Just a pair of undefeated teams remain in the NFL, and they both reside in the NFC North. The Packers and Lions could remain undefeated when they meet on Thanksgiving day. I'm guessing the ratings would be solid for such a game.
