Marquette junior guard Vander Blue will sign with an agent and declare himself eligible for the 2013 NBA draft. During his three seasons with the Golden Eagles, Blue showed steady improvement and accepted the challenge of becoming a team-leader. The Madison native lead the team in scoring at 14.8 points per game, while shooting a career-best 45% from the field and earned all-Big East second team honors.

I have never done this before, and I have no idea what possessed me to try it, but I took a stab at predicting what I think the Green Bay Packers 2013 regular season schedule will look like. The official schedule is expected to be revealed a few days before the start of the NFL draft on April 25.

Golf's first major of the season, the Masters, will begin on Thursday morning at Augusta. The field has been determined and in it are most of the familiar faces, Tiger, Lefty, Rory, Bubba, Tianlang. Tianlang? He may not be a household name just yet, but Tianlang Guan will be in the spotlight as the youngest player among the field.

In honor of the 75th anniversary of the NCAA tournament, the NCAA has revealed the top 15 players in tournament history. This can be debated until the cows come home, but the names on the list certainly conjure up vivid memories of past tournaments.

Some are curious, some are rather obvious - all are interesting. I'm talking about the origin of every team in Major League Baseball.

I'm not sure what to say about this other than it's about the most impressive damn thing I've seen on a golf course since Bubba Watson's snap-hook out of the woods that landed on the green of the second playoff hole at Augusta in 2012.

I don't know why I play the prediction game - I never seem to come close to being accurate. Nonetheless, as first pitch nears for the Milwaukee Brewers, I have put the finishing touches on how I believe the 2013 MLB season will shake out. The bold print indicates teams I believe will make the playoffs.

According to Forbes Magazine, the average value of an MLB franchise is $744 million - up 23% from a year ago. The Milwaukee Brewers rank 22 among MLB franchises with a valuation of $562 million. Back in 2005, Mark Attanasio and his ownership group paid $223 million for the team - not a bad return on investment for Attanasio and friends.

One of the reasons I really love minor league sports is due to the liberties front office staff often takes in regards to the fan experience. We've all heard of wacky promotions like "jock strap day" - heck, even the Milwaukee Admirals held a tribute to Uranus night complete with a "thumbs up Uranus" contest involving trivia questions pertaining to the gaseous planet.

Ok - so veteran pitcher Kyle Lohse is not Albert Pujols, but he is a guy who racked up 30 wins over his last two seasons as a member of the Cardinals. While the emotional connection fans have toward Lohse may not be equal to that of Pujols, there is no denying what Lohse meant the past couple of seasons on a playoff team.

The NCAA tournament didn't exactly get off to a rockin' start, but by mid-afternoon, things got interesting with St. Mary's near buzzer-beater over Memphis, and Marquette's improbable comeback win over Davidson. We saw a pair of 12 seeds (Oregon and California) advance - along with 14-seeded Harvard. The Crimson's win over New Mexico (3) was the biggest upset of the day.

One of the many things I love about the NCAA tournament is the chance to watch players come into their own when the bright lights are on. Every year a player or two, or three, rise to the occasion and carry their team further than expected.
