No timetable has been set for his return, but Packers wide receiver Greg Jennings underwent successful abdominal surgery on Thursday. It's expected Jennings will need at least three weeks to heal before resuming football activities, but it's not clear when he might return to the lineup.

The NFL trade deadline is scheduled for Thursday afternoon. Typically, very few deals are made, but that doesn't stop the rumor mill from churning. Packers fans who had hoped the team might be in the running for St. Louis Rams running back Steven Jackson, might not want to hold their breath.

In light of this once a year tradition and the start of a fresh NBA season, I thought it pertinent to point out some of the worst costumes…er…uh uniforms in NBA history. There are many lists out there relative to the topic, but this is the only list that should be considered ‘official’.

For just the fifth time in NFL history, the (4-3) Green Bay Packers will battle the (1-5) Jacksonville Jaguars. Both teams enter the game beat up. The Packers lost safety Charles Woodson for six weeks with a shoulder injury, while the Jaguars will be without all-everything running back, Maurice Jones-Drew. Below are three things that I'll be watching for in today's game:

The World Series kicks off tonight in San Francisco as the Giants host the Detroit Tigers. Without a horse in the race, I'm casually pulling for Detroit. A piece of me wants to see Prince Fielder earn a championship. Another piece of me just loves Tigers Manager, Jim Leyland.

The 3-3 Packers will complete three game road swing Sunday afternoon at the 3-3 St. Louis Rams. St. Louis has already won more games than all of last season, and seem to be a much more professional bunch under new Head Coach Jeff Fisher. Meanwhile, the Packers are coming off their most impressive win of the season - a 42-24 thrashing of the Houston Texans last Sunday night.

The Green Bay Packers (2-3) are in Houston to take on the red hot Texans (5-0) in a prime-time matchup under the lights at Reliant Stadium. Mike McCarthy has never coached a game in Reliant Stadium, but the Packers are 4-0 all-time in Houston. The last time the Packers played in the most air-conditioned city in America, it was 2004. The Packers won that game 16-13, and their leading rusher was...Walter Williams. (???)
