The LeBron Effect: Heat Fire Sales Staff!
Imagine being a member of the Miami Heat organization in the summer of 2010. The euphoric high that was generated with the arrival of LeBron James has now cast a dark cloud over the former staff that was licking their chops waiting to sell tickets.
Well, as you may have imagined, selling tickets to the hottest show in Miami no longer required proposals and incentives to be drafted by a sales team, so what did the Heat do? They canned their sales staff.
Usually, the sale of ALL season tickets before August 1st, would warrant a party...some sort of team-building thank you event with taco dip and awkward conversation. In Miami, the 'thank you' surprise was turning in key cards and cleaning out cubicles.
In the past month, who in their right mind would have thought the sales staff for the Florida Marlins would have it better off than the sales staff for the Heat? Holy smokes!
