I'm a pretty simple man by nature: I love doing things that benefit a great cause, and I love beer. Combine the two and I will be there front and center (and perhaps camping overnight).
These two passions will come together in one nice and tidy package on Sunday, June 6th as Miller Lite sponsors UPAF's Ride For the Arts. The United Performing Arts Fund is dedicated to upholding the quality of the arts scene in Milwaukee, and they do a great job - the 30th year of this ride is just the tip of the iceburg for them.
I've always desired to live in a "major league" city. Most of the time, I'm referring to BIG TIME live sports, but from an artistic standpoint, the MKE is ON THE MAP! Milwaukee has established itself as a "major league" city as it pertains to the arts - add that to your water cooler talk routine as it's something to be proud of.
Sunday's Ride for the Arts will celebrate this fact and raise money to keep the arts going strong! To show my support, I'll be leading a team of listeners on a 25 mile ride from the Summerfest Grounds all the way up toward Grant Park and back. I can't promise that I'll wear spandex (in fact, I can assure you that I won't), but I CAN assure you that we will be the most entertaining team on the course.
Wanna ride with me? You can do it by clicking here.
Just click on REGISTER and then note that you are signing up to ride with a team.
The team name is 620 WTMJ and the password is 620wtmj. Just review that you're on the right team and you'll be all set! Did I mention you'll get a free, one-of-a-kind custom T-shirt for signing up? If that doesn't sweeten the pot, I don't know what will.
Get to be early on Saturday night - the ride starts at 7:30am on Sunday morning. Just look for the 620WTMJ Chevy Tahoe and you'll find me.
See you there!
