Wounded Warriors to play Packers alumni in charity football game Saturday
Are you ready for some football? One night after the Packers take on the Arizona Cardinals in the pre-season opener, Packers alumni will take the field at St. Norbert's College.
A collection of former players will take on the Wounded Warrior Amputee football team in a charity flag football game Saturday night. The event starts at 6:00pm and will take place at Schneider Stadium.
Former Packers such as Ahman Green, Chris Jacke, Harry Sydney, Don Beebe, Bill Schroeder and Hall of Famer Dave Robinson will take on a collection of men and women who lost a limb in Iraq or Afghanistan.
Tickets are $10 for adults, with kids 12 and under free. Tickets will be available at the door, or can be purchased in advance from Cold Stone Creamery on Oneida Street, just a few blocks south of Lambeau.
All proceeds will benefit the Wounded Warrior Amputee football team disability and support group.
On a personal note, I am thrilled to serve as the field emcee for the event. I'll be running around capturing candid soundbites from the players, and perhaps attempting to cover Bill Schroeder.
Thanks to Zimmer for sponsoring the event and reaching out to me to be a part of it.
