Braves Hudson breaks ankle; team may be looking for help
Lower leg injuries make my spine tingle. Maybe its because I've had my fair share of ankle sprains...maybe its because I'm weak-stomached...regardless, what happened to Atlanta Braves pitcher Tim Hudson Wednesday night made me cringe.

The injury to Hudson comes about a week before the July 31 trade deadline. The Braves (57-44) are currently in first place in the NL East and, in terms of ERA, have the second best pitching staff in the National League. In other words, they were not looking to add a starter to the fold - until now perhaps.
Brewers General Manager Doug Melvin told reporters on Tuesday that he is not motivated to move starters Yovani Gallardo or Kyle Lohse. Neither Gallardo or Lohse are "untouchable", but it would clearly take an incredible offer for Melvin to move either piece. The market on starters is rather thin this season, and with Matt Garza having already been dealt to the Rangers, what the Brewers have may end up being most appealing.
