As workers begin constructing a new, state-of-the-art indoor venue for the Minnesota Vikings, the now outdated Metrodome will have been reduced to a pile of rubble. While the Vikings await their new digs, they will need a temporary home. Say hello to outdoor football in Minnesota.
Starting in 2014, the Vikings will play two seasons at the University of Minnesota's TCF Bank Stadium. TCF is a beautiful venue, but is an outdoor venue. I wouldn't exactly say the Vikings are a team built for cold weather, so it will be interesting to see how they adjust to playing in potentially adverse conditions.
Also - does this mean that stupid horn sound will go away? I can't imagine the sound of that thing travels in an outdoor setting quite like it does bouncing off the walls of the Humpty Dump. Perhaps it's annoying sound will have to be recorded.
