Former Badgers forward, Leuer, traded to Grizzlies

  • Print

Former Wisconsin Badgers and Milwaukee Bucks forward, Jon Leuer is on the move again. The 6'10" Leuer has been traded from the Cleveland Cavaliers to the Memphis Grizzlies for forward Marreese Speights, guards Wayne Ellington and Josh Selby, and a future first round draft pick.

For the Grizzlies, who are currently the 4th best team in the west (26-14), this was a cost cutting move.

Leuer, in his second year in the NBA, has played in only nine games this season and is averaging 2.4 points per game and 1.4 rebounds per game.

Drafted by the Milwaukee Bucks with the 40th overall selection in the 2011 NBA draft, Leuer was traded to the Houston Rockets along with forward John Brockman, and guard Shaun Livingston in exchange for center Samuel Dalembert.

The Bucks also exchanged first round picks with the Rockets in the 2012 draft. Moving down from 12 to 14, the Bucks chose 6'10' forward John Henson from North Carolina.
