The Green bay Packers have claimed first place in the NFC North following the Chicago Bears 32-7 loss at San Francisco Monday night. It was one of the more thorough beatings of the season, and it was viewed by a national television audience. What a shame.
With six games to play, the Packers and Bears have equal 7-3 records, but Green Bay controls their own destiny by virtue of their week two win over Chicago.
Below are a sampling of comments from the Chicago Tribune made by Bears fans after the loss. I usually only do this following Packers games, but the past couple of weeks have been tumultuous for the Bears, so I thought I would share what they're saying in Chicago.
*********
The chickens have come home to roost with a horrible offensive line being exposed to a national TV audience. Management has refused to address the need to sign and draft offensive linemen for the past three years.
it should now be clear that the Bears cannot win without Cutler at quarterback. The won/loss record for the past two seasons should be proof enough for even the most dedicated of Cutler haters.
I have never seen a worse performace in my life Jason Campbell sucks the line looks like garbage wtf the 49ers showed what they can do with a backup they need changes, now CAMPBELL SUCKS.
the 49ers exposed the bears weakness to the rest of the league. now the stacking of losses will start.
The offensive line should have to walk back to Chicago naked.
The defense is old and the o line sucks. Cutler is very inconsistent. So I say we are in total denial of the fact that we must begin the painful process of transition.
Tonight it was pretenders vs. contenders.
Crumbell is actually who we thought he were. Why do you always get this no good QBs? You suck as a QB, next stop Chicago.... Quittler and Crumbell ---may they never leave... {Editor's note: ???}
The Cutler trade and the poor draft picks overall were not only Jerry Angelo's debacles but also Lovie Smiths. This new GM is starting his own legend as the latest in the line of bad GMs.
Lovie cant beat Greenbay anymore, cant win a big game anymore and Urlacher high fives the other team, time to clean house.
